Shoot randomely to get them to come over if they run away. Be careful, though, it's a trap if you go in. There's a trailer I think you can climb on for higher cover, and underneath it you can find stockpiles of strong ammo. It ain't like Bethesda touched the creatures and made them weak - deathclaws in New Vegas, especially the Divide, are the real deal. New Vegas is an Obsidian game, some of NVs developers worked on the original Fallout games. Combining that with the idea of the creature living in the Divide, and it'd be pretty unacceptable for it to kill you any slower. Sticking to Fallout lore, a deathclaw is around 10ft tall and its claws are almost a foot long. My guns skill is at 100 and I have 8 strength so I figure that helped a lot too. So yeah if you have a chance to sniping them from a distance with a high powered rifle using special ammo is a good way to deal with them. Also I didn't have a chance with these three deathclaws I just fought (with TGM enabled because f*ck fighting them normally/up close when I get one shot) but I sniped a deathclaw in the distance with my anti-material rifle using a incendiary round and THAT almost one shot IT, haha. That would make sense but if that's true I hope I would get some precise details as to why. I might be wrong but i think it was because of the radiation in the divide made them deathclaws stonger.? Anyways how the f*ck are you suppose to survive those deathclaws without having like 5,000 hp, heavy armor, and a weapon that kills them in three hits? I wonder if there's reason besides "it's DLC" that these deathclaws feel much stronger than main game deathclaws.
I had some brotherhood of steel armor because I usually don't mind walking around slow, being this tanky character but I like that Joshua's armor has that critical +3 buff and being able to move around quickly feels better. I have 465 hp and I'm wearing light armor (Joshua Graham's armor & the 1st recon beret). Originally posted by Bearer of the Curse:Those deathclaws one shot me.
